"Think Kids" Teacher Grant

   

 

Purpose: To encourage NMACT members to pursue individual professional development through creative and innovative ways, therefore making them more effective and happy educators. It can be used to attend a conference, for specialized training, to obtain materials, to support student learning, enhance teaching, or to extend funds not covered by other grants.

Eligibility: A member of NMACT that is actively teaching in public or private schools.

Grant:
The total amount in the grant is $4000 per year, allocated in allotments up to $500. The amounts and number of the grants approved will depend on the amounts and the number of requests.

Criteria:
1. Explanation of how this will directly affect the quality of education in your classroom.
2. Impact that the grant will have on student success.
3. Application filled out completely, accurately, and on time.
4. Share your plan clearly thought the statement of purpose, process, and implementation.
5. Explain how much money it will require and how much you are requesting.
6. Fill it out as a group for group projects

Reimbursement: This grant operates through reimbursement procedures. A one-time reimbursement will be issued to the recipient or school district or both, following the completion of the activity. Reimbursement will be made to 1) an individual by producing original receipts or 2) school/district by producing an invoice, purchase order, and copy of the check for grant expense.

Applicant Procedures: Complete the application and submit  to NMACT Think Kids Teacher Grant, Box 2547, Ruidoso, NM 88355 or fill out the application on-line. Please, include a cover page that has your name, address, telephone number, and the school where you teach. Deadline will be December 31, 2006. A state officer of NMACT will notify recipients by January 31, 2007.

Requirements:
1. Reimbursement is contingent on a self-evaluation. This report  is to be a creative and informative. It will be used by NMACT for wider distribution. Pictures would be useful, either as hard copies or in digital format. When using student pictures, please have parent permission on file.
2. A self-evaluation report must be submitted upon completion of the "Think Kids" grant activities. Upon presentation of receipts to the treasurer and affirmation that the material has reached cite location for use or within three months of receiving your equipment, attending class, conference, or workshop.
